With over 30 years experience, Jim assists clients in both Alaska and Arizona. In Alaska, Jim focuses on helping clients with business, litigation and insurance matters. In Arizona, he assists clients in corporate and business matters. Jim has enjoyed an A rating with Martindale-Hubbell for over 15 years.

Jim’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, flying, and other outdoor activities in Alaska and Arizona. He stays physically active and loves to play hockey, hike, bike and golf. He owns a Cessna 206 airplane, which he enjoys flying in both Alaska and Arizona, as well as all locations in between. He enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson with his friends on the Arizona desert roads.

Jim and his wife, Jane, have been married for over 35 years. They have two marvelous children, and now two grandchildren.

Jim attended St. Olaf College in his hometown of Northfield, Minnesota, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977. He attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, where he was awarded a Juris Doctor degree (cum laude) in 1980. After graduating from law school, he was accepted into the Attorney General’s Honor Law Graduate Program with the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., where he served as a trial attorney in the Tax Division from 1980-84.
